ABOUT ME

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California, with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from National University and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from California State University, Chico. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families in a variety of settings—including schools, community organizations, foster and adoption homes, juvenile justice programs, and managed care.

Currently, I serve as the Director of Behavioral Health, where I’m passionate about helping people navigate their mental health benefits and connect with the care they deserve. My goal is to provide compassionate guidance and support so every individual feels seen, heard, and empowered on their healing journey.

MY PHILOSOPHY

As an Indian American psychotherapist and the child of immigrant parents, I have a deep awareness of the cultural barriers that often make it challenging for individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds to seek support or engage in psychotherapy. In many communities, mental health and emotional well-being remain stigmatized topics, which can prevent people from reaching out for help.

I am dedicated to breaking down these barriers by creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space where clients can explore their inner experiences and connect with their authentic selves. I believe in the transformative power of genuine human connection and view emotional growth as an ongoing, lifelong journey.

Throughout my work, I have witnessed individuals make profound and lasting changes. At the same time, I recognize that the success of therapy relies heavily on the quality of the therapeutic relationship. Finding the right therapist fit is essential, and I encourage clients to take the time to find someone with whom they feel understood and comfortable—because trust, transparency, and mutual respect form the foundation of effective therapy.

MY APPROACH

My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based Western psychological frameworks with the wisdom of Eastern traditions, creating a comprehensive and culturally sensitive foundation for healing. I draw upon my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Evidence based practices; Psychodynamic theory, and mind-body modalities such as mindfulness, yoga, and meditation to tailor treatment plans that meet the unique emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of each individual.

This integrative method allows clients to engage both the mind and body in the healing process, fostering deeper self-awareness, emotional regulation, and holistic well-being. By addressing the interplay between thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, I support clients in cultivating balance, resilience, and personal growth.

In addition to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, I am especially dedicated to supporting professionals in high-stress, service-oriented roles—including first responders, therapists, and other helping professionals—who often face personal and vicarious trauma through their work. My goal is to create a compassionate and grounding therapeutic space where these individuals can process their experiences, rebuild resilience, and find renewal.

CERTIFICATIONS

I am also a certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance, with over 220 hours of formal training. My personal and professional journey through psychotherapy, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness has led me to a deep belief in the innate potential within each individual to live a meaningful life—one grounded in resilience and guided by greater ease and clarity.

With more than a decade of dedicated practice in yoga, meditation, and Vipassana (mindfulness meditation), I have further deepened my understanding through multiple 10-day silent meditation retreats. These intensive experiences included guided instruction and structured periods of sitting and walking meditation, offering profound insight into the nature of awareness and healing.

Mindfulness has been one of the most transformative forces in my life—not only enhancing my own well-being but also enriching my work with clients. I believe that by cultivating presence, we create the conditions for true healing and open the door to more conscious, compassionate, and connected living.
